Freeform Flash Exchange

Works

1. To participate, you must sign up and create one work for your assigned recipient that matches one of their requests. In return, someone does the same for you.


2. Fiction or meta works must be a minimum of 300 words.


3. Art works must be a minimum of a clean sketch on unlined paper and at least 300x300 pixels. Lineart or colored permissible.

Where the Exchange Runs and Communications Go

1. The exchange nominations, signups, and posting is all run on AO3. You must have an account there to participate.


2. Communication if you are not matchable (have no one you can write for whose requests match your offers) will be run through the email address attached to your AO3 account. If anyone is not matchable, a post will show up on this community stating that people have been emailed. At that time, please check your email.


3. Communication for any issues unique to the participant will also go to the email address attached to your AO3 account. Please keep a general eye on your email throughout the exchange.


4. Communication for everything important to the exchange, including any delays or unexpected changes, will be posted here on this community. Please keep an eye on posts here throughout the exchange.


5. Any issues related to nominations will be posted on this community, as nominations are anonymous.


6. If at any point the mod is unable to reach someone regarding an issue within 24 hours, the mod reserves the right to make a decision concerning the issue and implement the decision without further contact with the participant.

Nomination / Sign Ups

1. You can nominate any fandom or freeform tag. Duplicates will not be merged. Typoes will not be corrected. Take care: I will not edit your signup up to make you matchable.


2. When you sign up, you'll only be able to request and offer fandoms and freeforms that are in the tagset, so please make sure to nominate everything you want to sign up with. The mod will be approving tags all the time, but please be patient if it takes a few hours before you can sign up with your nominated fandoms and freeforms.


3. There are no letters or optional details in this exchange. You are not guaranteed no "do not wants" in your work or even characters and pairings you like, though you can hint that way with freeforms. Please feel free to reject any gift not to your tastes and/or not comment.


4. You must sign up with a minimum of three requests and a maximum of ten requests. Each request has a minimum of one fandom and three freeforms, and a maximum of twenty each. You may match on any two freeforms with one fandom, so keep in mind that you are not guaranteed all tags in your request.


5. You must sign up with three to ten offers, each with one to twenty fandoms and three to twenty freeforms. You may match on any two fandoms with any one of your included fandoms. Keep this in mind when deciding what to combine in your offer.

Matching

1. Nominated fandoms and freeform tags.


2. Fandoms matching is OR, and you'll need to match on one fandom.


3. Freeform matching is AND, and you'll need to match on two freeforms.


4. Your finished work should be tagged with one of the requested fandoms and two of the requested freeforms.

Pinch Hits

1. Pinch hits are recipients who have no assigned creator and do not yet have a gift work.


2. Recipients who default and are unable to turn in their own assigned work will not go to pinch hit. It happens. Please don't feel guilty, just click default in AO3 under your Assignments as soon as possible so we can get a pinch hit going quickly.


3. Recipients who have a treat already that is over the minimum requirements will not go to pinch hit if their creator defaults.


4. Pinch hits will be posted on this community. To be assigned a pinch hit, you must comment on the pinch hit post with your AO3 name. Comments will be screened. Anyone not including their AO3 name will not be assigned the pinch hit.


5. Any pinch hits generated more than 24 hours before assignments due will be due when assignments are due.


6. Any pinch hits generated after the 24 hour countdown to assignments due will be due in 36 hours from the time assigned.


7. Work reveals may be delayed up to 24 hours to get pinch hits posted, but hopefully, this won't be an issue.

Treats

1. Treats are works created that were not assigned.


2. Treats are allowed regardless of whether you've signed up. Feel free to treat!


3. To post a treat, click on post to collection on the AO3 collection profile and add the recipient name where indicated on the work form.

Miscellaneous

1. The request summary will be visible throughout signups.


2. If you don't like your gift, feel free to reject it and not comment. Creators, do not take it personal if you don't receive a comment. This is a minimum signup exchange, so there aren't a lot of details to go on by design.
